Police and intelligence sources confirmed that a Cape Town man and woman apparently hijacked have ties with the terrorist group ISIS.
The names of the pair has not been released pending further investigation.
Meanwhile, a man and woman were arrested in Vryheid during an anti terrorism operation. The names are given as Sayfydeen Aslam Del Vecchio and Fatima Patel.
Patel was arrested along with her brother on the West Rand in July 2016.
The question arises as to why Patel was released to continue her activities again?
