On Tuesday night 5 November 2019, at 18:48, about ten suspects arrived at Blyvoor Shopping Centre in Carletonville. The suspects immediately proceeded to point firearms at the cashiers and supervisors, ordering them to open the tills and lie down.

One supervisor hesitated a little bit to get down and was subsequently shot in the leg with a 9mm pistol. Another security guard was pistol whipped twice on the head. Most suspects were heavily armed and one suspect was brandishing an R5 rifle with an extra magazine taped onto the rifle.

The suspects robbed the supermarket and liquor store and got away with cash and valuables to the value of about R30,000.

All suspects escaped towards Elandsridge Village by foot. The four suspects shown here robbed the liquor store.
