Not one but two protests happening this morning, the R59 Motorway is closed due protest action between Johan le Roux and Meyer. Apparently one can travel on the on R59 north from Meyer. Traffic already is backup and busy.
Reports that Kliprivier to Pierneef off ramp are linked to the protest.
Protesters have occupied the highway and residents are advised to avoid the area.
Police on scene try to avoid, it is extremely dangerous.
The protest started last night and there were reports that the demonstrators were shooting at the police. The police managed to calm down the situation but the tense atmosphere among the protesters have began to flare up again this morning.
