Reiger Park on the East Rand is “closed”. All access roads are barricaded with the traditional burning of tyres, stones and wood stumps.
The community forum declared that people were marginalized and that delivery and development projects had to be addressed. The government is called upon to fulfill their duty.
Meanwhile, protesters in Kempton Park set three delivery vehicles on fire. The protesters are part of the packaging industry workers who are on strike.
Observers point out that the promises of less corruption and less violence is not yet being realized and rather that it seems to be on the increase.
