In a major multi-agency operation, authorities have seized counterfeit goods with an estimated street value of R11.4 million in Johannesburg Central.

The operation, which took place on Friday, 07 November 2025, was led by the Gauteng Counterfeit Unit in a collaborative effort with the National Head Office Counterfeit, Border Police, Public Order Police, Commercial Unit, and brand protectors.

The raid targeted the illicit trade of fake products, resulting in the confiscation of a wide range of items. The seized goods included clothing, shoes, embroidery machines, printing machines, stickers, and packaging materials.

A spokesperson for the operation highlighted that the success underscores the Gauteng Counterfeit Unit’s ongoing commitment to dismantling the supply chain of counterfeit goods.
