On Friday morning, August 4, a man was shot and killed on a smallholding in Muldersdrift.

Apparently, around 5H45 the man heard noises on the smallholding and went outside to investigate. Without any warning, a gun battle ensued between the man and the suspects. The man was shot in his upper body. He was declared dead at the scene. The man was about 30 years old.

A security officer rushed to the scene after the panic alarm was activated. When he arrived at the smallholding, he was fired at. The security officer was not injured, and only his security vehicle was damaged.

The South African police in the West Rand is greatly concerned about the increased attacks on a smallholding in the area.

A case of murder and armed robbery will be investigated. The police are still searching for two or more suspects that were involved in the incident.
