At about 20:30 last night a tenant on a Nooitgedacht smallholding heard “strange” noises and went outside to investigate. He was overpowered by an unknown number of suspects and was shot no less than four times – twice in the chest and twice in his abdomen.
The Drift Action Control Center was notified and responded to the incident together with iron First Squad K9 unit and other tactical units, and on arrival found the victim bleeding profusely and in a critical condition. He was immediately transferred to hospital.
The suspects fled with valuable electronic equipment, and the police are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.
The victim is stable but remains in a critical state.
