SAPS Johannesburg K9 Unit arrested two suspects between the age of 33 and 38 for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition on the M2 Road on 9 February 2019, at 17:00.

Police received information about a suspect’s driving a Silver Grey Toyota Corolla, involved in an attempted robbery, police spotted the vehicle driving on the M2 with four occupants and stopped it. Upon a search members recovered two firearms and live rounds of ammunition in possession of the two suspects.

Both firearms’ serial numbers have been filed off.

Investigation is under way and the suspects are appearing today in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court.
