For the second time in less than two months, First National Bank has been robbed. 31 Safety deposit boxes belonging to customers were stolen from the Parktown branch in Johannesburg on New Year’s Day.
In December 250 deposit boxes stolen from another branch, were later found in a field near Nasrec by police. There is a possibility that the same people are involved in both robberies.
Meanwhile, customers are angry with FNB as valuable items and often irreplaceable documents are now lost.
There is a strong suspicion that employees of FNB can be involved.
