A joint intelligence driven operation conducted by the Hawks’ Narcotics Enforcement Bureau in Germiston and SAPS Organised Crime Narcotics resulted in the arrest of an alleged drug dealer and an illicit drug manufacturing laboratory dismantled in Wierda Park on Wednesday, 25 November 2020.

The investigation team followed up on intelligence about an alleged drug dealer who was allegedly manufacturing and selling drugs in Wierda Park, near Centurion.

The suspect’s premises was positively identified and the investigation team kept surveillance. They pounced on the suspect and executed the search warrant. Upon searching the premises, a sizable drug pressing machine, mandrax, crystal meth, and other chemicals to manufacture drugs with an estimated street value of R2 million were seized.

The 48-year-old man was immediately arrested and charged with illegal dealing and manufacturing of drugs. He is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Thursday, 26 November 2020.
