The grade R pupil, Amy-Lee De Jager, has been found. The exact details surrounding how she was reunited with her family are unclear and form part of the police investigation. The four suspects are still at large. And it is unclear if a ransom was paid to secure the little girl’s release. It has been reported that Amy Lee was dropped at the Shakespeare Hotel in Vanderbijlpark in the early hours of 3 September 2019, but this was not confirmed by the police. Investigators confirmed that she is undergoing a medical examination at a local hospital.
The family confirmed that she had been found after she was snatched from the Kollege Park Primary school in Vanderbijlpark on 2 September 2019, by four black men in a white Toyota Fortuner.
“The investigation into her disappearance and sudden reappearance is still ongoing. It is our appeal that this investigation be allowed to take its course.’ said police spokesperson, Vishnu Naidoo.
