Three security guards have been killed, one is in critical condition and one other bystander is also in critical condition after suffering gunshot wounds in a shooting incident on the corner of Dann and Monument roads in Kempton Park on the afternoon of 8 December 2020.

ER24 paramedics, along with several other Emergency Services, were on the scene at 16:30 to find a security bakkie riddled with bullet holes that had been driven off the road at the intersection. Three male security guards were found in the bakkie having suffered fatal gunshot wounds – they were declared dead on arrival.

A fourth security guard, a 35-year-old male, had run into a nearby shop – he was found to have suffered gunshot wounds to the back and stomach and was in a critical condition. He was treated using Advanced Life Support interventions by our medic while being transported to a hospital for further care.

A male bystander of unknown age was also found to have suffered a gunshot wound to the face and was in critical condition. He too was treated with Advanced Life Support interventions and transported to a hospital for further care.

A second scene on the corner of Beech and Kanna streets in Benoni, involving the alleged suspects, was also attended to by ER24 paramedics. Two males were found to have suffered fatal gunshot wounds and were declared dead on arrival. A third male is believed to have suffered minor to moderate injuries.
