On Friday Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane found President Cyril Ramaphosa guilty of several violations and offences like misleading Parliament, violating the Executive Ethics Code and possible money laundering with regards hundreds of millions of rands the Ramaphosa campaign for President received in 2017.
She has ordered several remedial actions that has the possibility of eventually giving Ramaphosa’s opponents enough ammunition to force him from office.
Mkwebane’s report stems from a complaint laid by the DA in November 2018 related to a R500,000.00 donation to his campaign by Bosasa (later called African Global Operations.
Mkhwebane’s remedial actions include instructing the National Assembly Speaker Thandi Modise to refer the report to Parliament’s Joint Committee of Ethics and Members Interests , asking the Speaker of Parliament to demand publication of all donations received by the President and asking NPA head Shamilia Batohi to open money laundering investigations with regards donations to the CR17 campaign within 30 days.

Mkhwebane is Zuma’s weaponized fight back personal protector, her office is the ground zero for the so called “fightback”, the pushback from the Zuma/Magashule wing of the ANC to reverse Ramaphosa’s painstakingly slow uncapture of the State that happened during Zuma’s Presidency.
The EFF is part and parcel of the pushback, especially against Pravin Gordhan, because the EFF leaders Malema and Floyd Shivambu have a lot of skeletons in their closets as well. Malema clearly would prefer a captured SARS for instance because of his huge tax debts. He would much rather have a pliable stooge like Tom Moyane in that position, somebody willing to manipulate the system to do him personal favours. It is not in Malema and Shivambu’s interest to have strong law enforcement agencies . Just think of their criminal conduct during the VBS bank heist where they were implicated.
Waiting in the wings to take over from Ramaphosa is DD ” The Cat ” Mabuza, a man that ran Mpumalanga as his own personal spaza shop . You cant teach Mabuza anything about state capture, he perfected it already as Premier of Mpumalanga.
Malema has only good words for Mabuza. There seems to be a bromance in the air and it looks like Mabuza and Malema are getting ready to team up to topple Ramaphosa.
Malema could in that scenario return to the ANC under President Mabuza and be rewarded with the deputy Presidency or an important position as minister and Malema will only see this as a springboard to one day become President.
What was predicted months ago is slowly starting to unfold before our eyes.
Ramaphosa is not blameless because he is filthy rich and there was no need to have businessmen donate hundreds of millions to his campaign. The very fact that he needed that much money for his campaign illustrates the corrupt nature of the ANC, because that was basically bribe money to buy votes. But everyone in the ANC does that.
A Mabuza Presidency should be avoided at all cost as he will just become another Zuma and what will follow after his corrupt rule will be a Malema Presidency to finally finish us off.
