A trio was convicted today, 13 September 2018, in connection with a farm attack that occurred on the 12 May 2018 in the Edenburg area.

The victim went horse riding on his farm to round up his sheep. Upon his return he was overpowered inside his home and assaulted by three males. He managed to defend himself by firing three shots at them and they fled the scene. All role players were activated and Freddy Mokhesi, Oupa Dikila and Hendrik Dada Booysen were arrested on a neighbouring farm.

Some of the stolen items were recovered.

The trio was sentenced today by Regional Court in Bloemfontein.

Freddy Mokhesi was sentenced to 16 years imprisonment, Oupa Dikila to 11 years imprisonment and Hendrik Dada Booysen to 7 years imprisonment.
