Members of Odendaalsrus Visible Policing were busy conducting stop-and-search as part of Operation Shanela on 21 December 2023. A vehicle was stopped and a request was made to search.
While members Constable Victor Ben, Sergeants Moeketsi Mpitsi and Xolani Mtswazi were busy, 102 bunches of Khat plant drugs were found and a 43-year-old foreign national who was in possession of a South African identity document and a licenced firearm was arrested. He was arrested for possession of drug plants. He will appear on 27 December 2023 in Odendaalsrus Magistrate Court.
