During the early hours of Sunday, 19 August 2018, the Bergbas Street neighborhood in Loerierpark near Bloemfontein woke up to a shocking murder of the 48-year-old African male, Phakiso David Mohale.
The deceased was found lying in the street with stab wounds.
The police from Parkweg arrived and soon the preliminary investigation started. Washed clothes, wet couch, blood splatters and tracks between the house and the spot where the deceased was found lying led to the arrest of the then 18-year-old son.
The trial began in Bloemfontein Magistrate Court and witnesses testified against the suspect.
Evidence including the murder weapon were presented before the court.
On Friday 7 January 2022 Tshepo Boitumelo Mohale was sentenced to fifteen years imprisonment for the murder of his father.
