Heuningspruit farm attack, two arrested, firearms recovered

Crime Intelligence led information resulted in the arrest of two suspects and recovery of stolen firearms following a farm attack, house robbery in Heuningspruit.

On 3 May 2018 at about 11:30, six suspects arrived at Mooivlakte farm in Heuningspruit district driving a grey Toyota Hilux with construction stickers.

The complainant, a 48 year old woman, was at the farm with her employees where she was approached by heavily armed men who tied them with cable ties then demanded keys to the safe.

They then robbed them of 7 firearms, cash and cellphones and then fled the the scene with the bakkie.

Farmers and police were activated but the suspects were not found. The vehicle was found abandoned the next day and all the stolen firearms and ammunition was recovered.

Two suspects have been arrested and will appear in the Kroonstad Magistrate Court on Monday 07 May 2018.
