A farm attack took place on on 14 September 2020, at 12:00, in Hobhouse, in the Free State province of South Africa. This was the second attack in that area in two days. In the first attack, which took place on 13 September 2020, a couple were attacked whilst inspecting their cattle. In this the second attack, six farm workers, who were fixing fences, were attacked by eight attackers from Lesotho.

The attackers had also brought their cattle across onto the farmers land from Lesotho. The attackers started assaulting the workers demanding their phones, the tractor battery and other items.

One of the workers jumped on the tractor and fled in an attempt to keep it safe, the attackers tried stopping him by chasing their cattle into his path, but fortunately he managed to get away. The farmer who was on his way to the workers, surprised the attackers, causing them to flee back across the river into Lesotho.

Two hours later when the farmer and workers returned to the area to continue fixing fences the Lesotho attackers with their cattle had again crossed the river onto his farm.

There is no other information available at this stage. The police are investigating. But there have been no arrests.
