A farm attack took place on 13 September 2020, at 11:30, in Hobhouse, a small farming town in the Free State province of South Africa. A farmer, Fritz Loesch and his wife Ina, were out on the farm inspecting their cattle when an armed attacker sprayed pepper spray into the vehicle and then attacked the farmer, assaulting him violently with an object.
The farmer retaliated and fought with the attacker managing to overpower him, this caused the attacker to flee. Nothing was robbed and there were no serious injuries. After the alarm was raised, assistance was swift and the couple were treated. In the follow up operation here were no arrests.
