Five year old stabbed multiple times during hijacking

Gauteng police said a full-scale search was launched after three suspects stabbed a five year old son several times with a sharp object on May 17, 2015 after the car of the boy’s father was hijacked in Boksburg on the East Rand.

Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, a police spokesman, confirmed to Maroela Media that the hijacking of the car, a Volkswagen Golf, happened at 19:00 in Trichardt Road in Boksburg.

“It is suspected that the driver of the vehicle, the boy’s father, was attacked by three men when he stopped at a traffic light,” said Dlamini. “The suspects in the car blocked off the victims’ car, got out and pointed firearms at the man.”

The alleged hijackers jerked the man out of his car and sped away with his five year old son.

The car was found abandoned near Boksburg Prison. The boy was found near the car in a ditch. He apparently had been stabbed several times with a sharp object.

“The boy was taken to a nearby hospital immediately where a doctor confirmed that the boy had sustained stab wounds,” said Dlamini.

According to Dlamini the son is recovering in the Netcare Clinton Hospital and is in a stable condition.

Police urged anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stop on 0860 010 111 call.
