Father, son shot and robbed


The hunt is on for a group of men who shot and wounded a father and son and robbed them, on the N3 north, Gauteng police said on Tuesday.

The man drove from his Wynberg business where he had collected cash, to Bedfordview to pick up his son, when the robbers began following them shortly after noon on Monday, Lieutenant-Colonel Lungelo Dlamini said.

The men were wearing balaclavas and driving a white Audi. Several shots were fired.

The father and son ran out of petrol on the N3 north. The robbers confronted them, shot them and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

The son was in a in critical condition. Cases of attempted murder and armed robbery were being investigated.
