On Sunday morning June 14, 2015 at about 00:20 Marie de la Rosa (73) was threatened in her bedroom at Milleniumpark home for the elderly, in Reddersburg, Free State, South Africa with a dangerous shears at her throat, while a man demanded money and her ATM card, jewelry and cell phone.
“He obtained access to my townhouse with a set of keys.”
“I was extremely shocked when I saw him in my bedroom. He said another man was keeping watch outside.”
“When he wanted jewelry, I showed him just beads. He demanded my ATM card and number, and fled.”
De la Rosa said she called her children in town.
“The children and police came immediately. There was an all-night search for the criminals. Members of the police intelligence-unit in Bloemfontein also assisted on Sunday.”
