Two elderly women were found murdered in their respective rooms in the St John retirement home in Sunridge Park, Port Elizabeth on Thursday morning 10 October 2019. The one victim was 91 and the other 87 years old. They were found bound on their beds, their mouths were also bound with material.
The two women were identified as Agnes Elaine Burns (91) and Rosemary Langton (87). They were found around 06:00 by personnel.
Robbery seems to be the motive for the murders as the rooms of the two women were ransacked and jewelry is missing. It is still a mystery how the murderers gained access to the women’s rooms as there is no sign of forced entry and the complex is surrounded by a fence and there are security cameras and security guards at the gate.
