An elderly woman has been attacked on a smallholding outside of Port Elizabeth.The 82 year old woman was attacked at approximately 19:30 on Tuesday 3 April 2018 in her home whilst watching TV.

“She had heard a noise and when she went to investigate, was confronted by four black males armed with knives. The attackers gained entrance by breaking the sitting room window with a brick. she was threatened and then her hands were tied.” said a police spokesperson Col. Priscilla Naidu.

She was forced to her bedroom where the attackers stole jewelry and money to the value of R100,000.00. They ransacked the house and fled when the house telephone rang.The woman was not injured during the attack and managed to summon help.

The police are investigating the robbery, no arrests have been made yet.
