Dutywa Police arrested a 23 year old man for alleged rape of a 21 year old woman. The suspect was arrested on Wednesday 25 July 2018. It is alleged that the victim was in deep slumber at her home which is at Sundwana Locality, Chizele Village, Dutywa.
It is alleged that the suspect went to the homestead of the victim and forced the door open.
He then allegedly accosted the victim and raped her. The alleged rape took place on Wednesday 25 July 2018 at about 03:00. The crime was reported to the Idutywa Police who acted swiftly by tracing and arresting the suspect.
The suspect will appear before Dutywa Magistrate Court on Friday 27 July 2018 on a rape charge.
Butterworth Cluster Police are appealing and warning women not to sleep alone as they become victims of crime. It is suggested that women should sleep with their relatives to avoid being victims of crime.
