PE K9 unit catch three housebreakers red handed, Sidwell

Teamwork and swift response from other units and station Visible Policing Unit members resulted in the arrests of three housebreaking suspects in Sidwell.

It is alleged that on Friday, 25 May 2018 at about 05:00, SAPS Algoa Park requested assistance with a housebreaking in progress at the Lunch Box in Commercial Road in Sidwell. The front gate and the sliding door of the premises were already broken when PE K9 unit members entered with their dogs.

Three suspects aged between 26 and 31 years old were arrested inside the premises and will appear in the New Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 28 May 2018. Due to their speedy response, nothing was taken from the shop.

Investigators are in the process of establishing whether these suspects may be linked to other cases of housebreaking and theft in the area.
