Another of our elderly woman, Martha Snyman (83), has been murdered in a South African home invasion and yet these heinous crimes remain as ‘non-priority’ for the government. Elderly people now have a better chance of being murdered in their own homes than dying from COVID-19.
Mrs Snyman and her husband David (76) were attacked on Saturday morning, 9 May 2020, in their Rowellanpark, Port Elizabeth home around 10:30.
The attacker assaulted Mrs Snyman in the passage where she died from a head injury. David was overpowered and assaulted in the lounge. The attacker then fled with cellphones and cash. David was injured in the attack but survived.
There have been no arrests.
