After a day on safari on a guest farm in Addo in the Eastern Cape, a couple, Tommaso Bordoni (29) from Belgium and Linsey de Waele (25) from the Netherlands were relaxing in their room for the evening on 14 February 2020. It was then that two black males came into the room just before midnight, one with the firearm and one with the knife.
Tomasso pleaded for his life whilst Linsey whid in the bathroom. The couple came to South Africa for a vacation but what should have been a perfect African Valentine’s day turned into a nightmare as the couple became victims of armed robbers and Tomasso thought that his last day on earth has arrived as he had a firearm pressed against his head and the blade of a knife against his throat.
The attackers took money, clothes and passports and then fled in the couple’s hired vehicle. The traumatised couple then they ran to another guest house for help.
The Police are investigating but there have been no arrests. The couple left South Africa on Friday 21 February 2020.
