Consequent to the successful investigation and completion of a narcotics project investigation by the South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau team of the Gqeberha based Hawks’ Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Gashley May (24) was convicted by the Knysna Magistrates’ Court on 25 February 2022 for charges of dealing in unlawful dependence producing substances.

Between 17 April and 2 June 2018, May was implicated in conducts of dealing in unlawful dependence producing substances.

A project was put in place to investigate the matter that led to his arrest in September 2021. He was released on bail and made several court appearances until his conviction.

The matter was remanded to 13 April 2022 for reports before sentencing.
