Drug lab raided, R5 mill worth of drugs recovered, Kameeldrift

Members of the Provincial Organized Crime Unit and the Provincial Drug Team in Limpopo, on Friday 13 December 2019, conducted an Operation that led to discovery of a drug lab at Plot No 74 Maroela, Kameeldrift in Pretoria, the arrest of three suspects and seizure of drugs with the estimated street value of R5 million.

The police followed up an information that firstly led them to an address in Tzaneen, Limpopo and on arrival, they arrested one suspect aged 57 and seized the following drugs and a motor vehicle:

Magic mushrooms.
Hydroponic dagga.
Lolly pops.
Motor vehicle (Ford Fiesta).

During the subsequent investigations that were conducted at the said premises in Tzaneen, the police ope rationalized another information that led them to Kameeldrift in Pretoria where the drug lab was discovered. Two suspects aged 23 and 35 were arrested and the following were seized:

Mushrooms.
Dry bottles of hydroponic dagga.
60 x indoor dagga plants.
Equipment for the manufacturing and packaging indoor dagga.

The Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has hailed all members of the SAPS who were involved in this operation and also thanked community members for continuously providing valuable inform to the police.

The suspects will soon appear in court on charges of dealing in and possession of drugs.
