The 20 men found guilty in July last year on charges, including murder, treason and terrorism on the grounds of a plan to conduct a coup, were finally sentenced this week.
Some of the accused have already died and others have been in jail for a longer time than what their sentence finally is.
The Boeremag hearing has lasted more than ten years and already cost more than R30 million. Judge Eben Jordaan imposed the accused sentences between 5 and 35 years (see attached summary below – acknowledgment to Philip Bruwer).
