Barloworld taking discrimination to next level, lays off staff on the basis of their white skin

We already have systemic and institutionalized racism against the small white community in South Africa – discrimination on the basis of skin colour in each and every facet of the South African society and now Barloworld is taking the lead in a new phenomenon in South Africa namely retrenchment based on race – the white race that is.

Solidarity trade union has said that Barloworld is continuing to retrench workers on the basis of skin colour, in other words the ” if you are white, you are out” way.

Solidarity has also said that it will take renewed legal action after the Labour Court rejected Solidarity’s application to have this racial discriminatory practise stopped.

Solidarity will now launch a new court application in which they will challenge the legality of the consultation process Barloworld followed with regards race based retrenchment. Solidarity will also appeal the Labour Court’s decision to reject Solidarity’s previous application to declare race based retrenchment illegal.

Solidarity says race has played a pertinent role in the retrenchment process at Barloworld and this they simply can’t allow.
Solidarity says they simply can’t allow racist state ideologies to become the norm in the private sector as well.
