Judges are obliged to give judgment within three months of the last court date. Meanwhile, there are 87 judgements that are outstanding under which seven have been outstanding more than two years.
Judge Anton van Zyl of the Pietermaritzburg High Court is responsible for four non delivered judgements , including one case judgement that had to be delivered five years ago and a second one six years ago.
Judge Siraj Desai has three outstanding judgements with a combined total of four years in arrears.
Judge Jacqueline Henriques eight cases are outstanding for a total of 13 years and Judge Dephney Mahosi holds the record for 15 outstanding on her court roll.
It is not known what has happened with the accused who have been waiting to hear their verdicts, and experts say the judges should be suspended.
