During the month of July 2022 there were fifteen farm attacks and seven farm murders in South Africa. From 1 January to 31 July 2022 there have been seventy eight farm attacks and twenty one farm murders in the country.
On 17 July 2022, the FF Plus condemned farm attacks and murders saying, ‘Farm murders in South Africa are out of control’ this after the brutal attack that took place in Kestell in the Free State in which seven people were killed.
The owner of the farm, Mr Alheit Smit (77), discovered the bodies of his wife, Sisi, his seventeen-year-old stepson and the five female employees.
During June 2022, there were three farm attacks and one farm murder in South Africa.
During the month of May 2022, there were ten farm attacks and two farm murders in South Africa. During this period two farm attacks were successfully averted.

January 2022 – 14 Farm attacks and 4 farm murders.
February 2022 – 17 Farm attacks and 3 farm murders.
March 2022 – 7 Farm attacks and 1 farm murder.
April 2022 – 12 Farm attacks and 3 farm murders.
May 2022 – 10 Farm attacks and 2 farm murders.
June 2022 – 3 Farm attacks and 1 farm murder.
July 2022 – 15 Farm attacks and 7 farm murders.
