GATEWAY Theatre of Shopping has set up a buzzy, artsy art and craft studio on the Cinema level where trained workshop facilitators will host a curated lineup of hands-on, fun creative workshops from 7-18 July.

“It’s a treat to create something – to be able to escape into your imagination and turn your thoughts into a masterpiece to share with the world,” says Gateway Marketing Manager, Michelle Shelley. “The workshops are perfect for the holidays because we’re catering for children over eight-years-old, and we have also included sessions that are better suited to older children and adults.”

Each session is designed for maximum creativity and support, so no previous experience or skills are required. The idea is that a simple project will be tackled from start to finish. “From creating a succulent garden, to embroidery on a jacket, making earrings or a keyring and painting a canvas, each person will have the opportunity to master a new skill and express themselves in what they create.”

The environment is relaxed, social and engaging. “We want families and friends to come and enjoy their time together, as well as the thrill of doing something different,” says Shelley.

With two sessions a day during the week and three over the weekend, seating is limited to 32 so tickets will be selling out fast at R120 a session via Webtickets. More info can be found on www.gatewayworld.co.za
