Rising stars Velile Soha, Sifiso Temba, Tanja Truscott and Simon Venter are the four artists selected for the 2022 Nando’s Creative Exchange. A selection of their work will be on show at the Association for Visual Arts (AVA) Gallery in Cape Town from 01 December 2022 to 12 January 2023.
The Nando’s Creative Exchange was established in 2011 to recognise emerging Southern African fine artists who demonstrate exceptional ability. Participants are nominated by the Spier Arts Trust, which administers the Nando’s Creative Exchange as an artist career-development opportunity.
Participants such as Soha, Temba, Truscott and Venter are encouraged to create a comprehensive body of work for a group exhibition. An experienced mentor provides curatorial and professional presentation advice to the artists while they are working towards the exhibition, to enable future independence in approaching galleries professionally and to plan successful art exhibitions.
For the past five years, Nando’s and the Spier Arts Trust have partnered with AVA Gallery – the oldest not-for-profit gallery in Cape Town – to meet this artist career-developmental objective.
