
UITSIG — In a decisive Uitsig drug bust linked to the broader Operation Lockdown III initiative, law enforcement officers arrested a 48-year-old woman after recovering 100 Mandrax tablets from her Carnation Avenue home.
The seizure marks the latest success in regional efforts to disrupt local narcotics distribution networks. Acting on actionable intelligence regarding suspected illicit drug activity at the specific address, tactical units mobilized to investigate the property on Thursday, 18 June 2026.
Officers arrived on the scene at approximately 16:00 and immediately secured the premises. A meticulous search of the residence led investigators to a cleverly hidden stash. According to police reports, the 100 Mandrax tablets were discovered concealed inside a plastic bag that had been tightly wound into a compact plastic ball.
The 48-year-old female suspect was present at the home during the execution of the search warrant and was taken into custody without incident.
She currently remains in police detention while investigators finalize the docket. The accused is scheduled to face formal charges during her first appearance at the Bellville Magistrate’s Court.
