The Provincial Tracking Team has launched massive manhunt for a group of about 10 heavily armed suspects who attacked and robbed a cash in transit vehicle on the morning of 1 August 2017.
It is alleged that the cash in transit car was travelling along R71 road between Tzaneen and Phalaborwa this occurred between 06:00 and 07:00, when they were attacked by suspects traveling in three cars. The suspects used explosive devises and subsequently robbed an undisclosed amount of money.
The three vehicles had around 10 armed suspects and include, a black BMW sedan, a C 200 Mercedes Benz and a white ML Mercedes Benz, all with unknown registration numbers.
Cases of armed robbery (cash in transit) and attempted murder were opened and the Police investigations are still continuing.
