The Acting National Commissioner of the South African Police Service (SAPS), Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, has ordered the North West Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Ryno Naidoo, to deploy maximum resources to track down the killers of Thato Molosankwe, a vocal crime activist and traditional healer from Mahikeng.

According to North West police, Molosankwe was shot and killed at his home in Lomanyaneng Village, Mahikeng, in the early hours of this morning. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Lieutenant General Dimpane condemned the murder and assured the community that all efforts would be made to find those responsible and bring them to justice.

Local police described Molosankwe as a community-minded individual who assisted police efforts to fight crime and corruption, and helped strengthen relations between the SAPS and communities.

The Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit has taken over the investigation.
