The Acting District Commissioner of Bojanala Platinum Sub-District 2 has welcomed the sentencing of a 32-year-old man following his conviction for attempted murder on Wednesday, 14 May 2025.

According to court proceedings, on Thursday, 19 September 2024, the victim was attacked by her boyfriend in Seraleng near Boitekong. The accused repeatedly stabbed the victim on her upper body and thighs with a knife and further assaulted her with a spade. The victim lost consciousness during the attack and only regained consciousness in hospital the following day.

The case docket was assigned to a detective sergeant for investigation. He traced and arrested the accused the day after the attack. The accused remained in custody after being denied bail by the Rustenburg Magistrate’s Court until his conviction and sentencing.
