A 44-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, 3 May 2026, after members of the SAPS Milnerton Crime Prevention Unit found 2,200 mandrax tablets in his possession.
The arrest took place at the corner of Freedom Way and Democracy Drive in Joe Slovo. At approximately 20:00, officers on routine patrol observed the suspect pulling a rubbish bin. They stopped him and, during a search of the bin, discovered the drugs.
The suspect was charged with possession of drugs. He appeared in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 4 May 2026.
