A man believed to be in his mid to late twenties was found dead outside his home in Edendale, Pietermaritzburg on the evening of 25 July 2017.
Shortly before 20:00, paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they were escorted to the home of the man by bystanders.
Upon arrival, they found the man lying outside the entrance with a fatal gunshot wound to his face.
Paramedics assessed him and found there was nothing that they could do for him. He was later declared dead on the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the incident is not yet known. Local police attended the scene and will conduct an investigation into the matter.
