
The Vosloorus Regional Court sentenced 35-year-old Zola Mbola to life imprisonment on 02 April 2026 for the rape of a 41-year-old mentally challenged woman.
The court found that on 03 February 2024, the accused lured the victim to his home in Dawn Park with the promise of a cold drink before committing the offence.
The case was opened at Dawn Park South African Police Service (SAPS) and assigned to Detective Sergeant Simon Kabelo Tala of the Brakpan Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Unit for further investigation. The accused was arrested on the same day as the incident.
On 02 April 2026, the Vosloorus Regional Court found the accused guilty and imposed a sentence of life imprisonment.
