
A 24-year-old man from Kakamas has been found guilty and sentenced in the Kakamas Regional Court for assaulting his two-year-old child. The court handed down a five-year prison sentence, wholly suspended for five years.
The accused faced a charge of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH). The case was registered at the Kakamas Police Station on the day after the incident, which occurred on Friday, December 30, 2022.
According to court records, the accused became angry after the child wet the bed. He then struck the child in the face and across the body, resulting in visible injuries including bruises, wounds, and swelling. The child’s mother reported the matter to the police.
