Confidence in the police as an institution to apply law and order is rapidly decreasing, as more and more cases of police officers are charged for criminal activities in an attempt to be more prosperous than the victims.
In the latest case, a constable of the Cape, along with four other thugs, all dressed in police uniforms, tried to steal and threatened a house resident in Tafelsig.
The constable, working at the central office in Cape Town, appeared quite at ease when a police vehicle arrived at the scene.
He was arrested after the vehicle’s registration number was taken. His four cronies are still at large, and probably still in possession of police uniforms, they had on.
