Moving coffin masquerading as scholar transport removed by RTI Park Rynie and children saved

Inkosi Mhlabunzima Maphumulo House: A moving coffin masquerading as scholar transport has been removed from our road network by the highly efficient and dedicated team from RTI Park Rynie, south of Durban, and in Ugu.

Despite the door falling apart, defective brakes, excessive oil leaks, and a defective steering wheel, the driver looked determined to provide scholar transport to innocent children throughout the year.

The driver has been charged, and the vehicle has been impounded through the unstoppable #NenzaniLaEzweni Operation.

We wish to report the following statistics, which show an overwhelming success of the operation: –

2 warrants of arrests executed.
4 unroadworthy vehicles removed from the road networks.
75 vehicles stopped and inspected.
43 drivers charged.
24 drivers received notices for various offenses.

Importantly, we have seen the intensive implementation of the #NenzaniLaEzweni Operation following the first meeting of the Integrated Traffic Law Enforcement Committee (ITLEC).

Traffic departments in various municipalities across the provinces have joined forces with RTI to enforce the law and to reduce road accidents and fatalities.

We are focusing on rolling out #NenzaniLaEzweni Operations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.

Issued by the MEC for Transport and Human Settlements
