On Sunday, 1 February 2026, at approximately 13:00, the Bloemfontein-based Provincial Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) arrested a 37-year-old foreign national in Kroonstad.

The arrest followed intelligence about a man suspected of dealing drugs in the area. AGU members tactically approached an identified address, met the suspect, and conducted a search.

The search yielded a large quantity of drugs, including Cat and Crystal Meth, with an estimated street value of R110,000. Officers also seized 11 different cellphones, suspected stolen property, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect faces charges of dealing in drugs and possession of suspected stolen property. He is expected to appear in the Kroonstad Magistrate’s Court soon.
