A 29-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged rape of a 27-year-old woman at a local tavern in Zaaiplaas. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 02 November 2025.
According to police reports, the victim was at the tavern when the suspect allegedly grabbed her, forced her to the ground, and sexually assaulted her.
Following the incident, the victim was taken to a local hospital for a medical examination and necessary treatment.
Police swiftly opened a case of sexual assault, leading to the subsequent arrest of the suspect.
The 29-year-old suspect is expected to make an appearance before the local Magistrate’s Court soon to face a charge of sexual assault.
The Acting Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Major General Jan Scheepers, has strongly condemned the incident. He also welcomed the rapid arrest made by the Zaaiplaas police.
Police have confirmed that their investigations into the matter are ongoing.
