A significant drug distribution operation was disrupted in Wynberg on Thursday night, leading to a major seizure and one arrest.
Acting on specific intelligence, police officers followed up on information about a vehicle on Main Road, Wynberg, that was suspected to be carrying drugs. The team located the described vehicle at Grand Central and proceeded with a search.
The operation yielded a substantial haul of illegal narcotics. Inside the vehicle, officers discovered 4,258 mandrax tablets and two one-kilogram bags of crystal meth. An adult male was arrested at the scene for possession of drugs.
The estimated street value of the confiscated substances is R39,000.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court today to face charges of drug possession.
