A swift and intelligence-driven operation by members of the Milnerton South African Police Service (SAPS) has resulted in the arrest of a 54-year-old suspect for dealing in drugs and the seizure of narcotics with an estimated street value of R900,000.
The operation unfolded on the afternoon of Wednesday, 17 September 2025, after police received a tip-off regarding an occupant of a silver Mercedes-Benz who was allegedly selling drugs in the area. Acting immediately on the information, officers operationalised a plan and located the vehicle on Kinetic Way in Century City.
The vehicle was intercepted and stopped by police, who conducted a search. The search yielded a quantity of drugs found both inside the vehicle and on the occupant.
The suspect was then taken to his residence in Pinelands, where a subsequent search led to the discovery of a large additional quantity of drugs. Police also confiscated an undisclosed amount of cash believed to be the proceeds of drug-related crime.
The total haul of confiscated drugs is estimated to have a street value of R900,000.00.
The 54-year-old suspect remains in police custody and is expected to be formally charged before he makes his appearance in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court.
